Join us LIVE at 10pm Eastern on the Red Road Radio Show when we visit with Walk for Mother Earth organizer and Everglades resident Betty Osceola. We will be discussing the River of Grass Greenway project, years in the making and despite its rather innocuous name, under closer examination, would have been a significant and invasive undertaking that would have altered critical habitat as well as culturally sacred homelands for many indigenous people. The 76 mile long concrete and asphalt pathway, between 14 and 18ft wide, was planned to extend from the Gulf of Mexico coast to Miami right through the Everglades and Floridians would have ended up paying for it to the tune of $700,000. to $1 million a mile. Betty, a Miccosukee grandmother and Everglades business owner whose determined work to protect Mother Earth for future generations and other allies successfully stopped this project in February. Please listen, learn and weigh in on a topic few Floridians and even fewer Americans seem to know about. Listen LIVE at 10PM on FYINATION.com right here on RedRoadRadio.com
